B & B "La loggia del duca" belongs to Marchetti family and it is just 45 minutes walk away from the sea and the mountains , in the Commune of Pievebovigliana . It represents the living testimony of the presence of the noble and powerful Duchy Da Varano of Camerino in the territory and in Marche Region. The old mansion and the adjoining Dove-cot tower , date back to the XIV century and represent the Mediaeval nucleus. They were respectively the residence of the Da Varano Knights and the sight tower. An architectonical feature of these and of other local historical buildings is the use of the fine sandstone blocks. The fortress complex is located on a high ground from where it is possible to admire the evocative S. Francesco conventual complex (with important paintings by Camerinensis school) and Beldiletto castle (the Da Varano family's summer residence). All around, the territory offers historical and artistic buildings like the Mediaeval nucleus of pieve and its paleochristian crypt , the bridge on Chienti river (of Roman origin), the Roman churches of S. Giovanni all'Isola and S. Giusto and a very suggestive agrestic scenery with ancient rural settlements.
